National Association for Visually Handicapped

The mission of the National Association for Visually Handicapped is to provide services and emotional support worldwide to the "Hard of Seeing" -- not the totally blind, for whom over 800 helping agencies exist -- so that impaired vision need not mean an impaired life.

  • large-print publications for the layperson in English, Russian, and Spanish
  • informational materials on the issues of low vision
  • distribution through its large-print catalog and the web site of visual aids along with counseling on their use
  • distribution of quarterly newsletters worldwide
  • large-print loan library, free by mail, nationwide
  • referral and emotional support services
