Lions Eye Health Program (Lions Clubs International Foundation)

Participating Lions Clubs, through the Lions Eye Health Program (LEHP), educate populations at risk for glaucoma and diabetic eye disease about the importance of having a dilated pupil eye exam and seeking treatment, if necessary. LEHP is funded by a SightFirst grant from the Lions Clubs International Foundation, the charitable arm of Lions Clubs International. Participants in LEHP include more than 2,800 Lions Clubs in 32 states and Washington, DC. In addition, LEHP programs have been funded by the Lions Clubs International Foundation in Japan, Great Britain, Ireland, Canada, and Australia.

Educates the public about glaucoma through the Don't Lose Sight of Glaucoma brochure, The Best Things in Life: Controlling Glaucoma video, Glaucoma Awareness posters, and print and radio public service announcements. Partnering with eye care professionals and other community organizations, Lions use these materials to make presentations, participate in community events, work with the media, and conduct eye screenings.

Provides a toll-free help line (1-800-982-0356) for the public to receive information about glaucoma and diabetic eye disease.
