Glaucoma Research Foundation
The Glaucoma Research Foundation (GRF) is a national, nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting the sight and independence of people with glaucoma. GRF's ultimate goal is to find a cure.
GRF offers education and support for people with glaucoma and their families through:
- Gleams, a bi-monthly newsletter filled with regular research updates, treatment news, success stories, and more.
- An award-winning web site located at http://www.glaucoma.org. GRF's web site provides information and resources on GRF programs, glaucoma, and glaucoma-related issues.
- Understanding & Living with Glaucoma, a helpful guidebook that provides easy-to-read facts and answers for people with glaucoma and their families.
- Glaucoma Interactive, an online information exchange discussion board, located through the web site at http://www.glaucoma.org.
- The Glaucoma Support Network, a national telephone and e-mail peer support network of people with glaucoma who are trained to provide peer support for living with the disease.
- Speakers Bureau, provides speakers currently available in 20 different states. Speakers carry a message that may save the eyesight of those who perhaps do not even know they are at risk.
- GRF puts great emphasis on research by supporting international research efforts through its Eye Donor Network, Research Catalyst Forums, and Fellowship Program.
Through its Scientific Advisory Committee composed of world-renowned researchers, the GRF funds pilot project research grants to innovative scientists worldwide.
Provides a toll-free information service (1-800-826-6693) for patients, their families, and the general public.

- A glaucoma awareness poster.
- A patient video on glaucoma, providing an overview of glaucoma from diagnosis to treatments.
- Living With Glaucoma, the Patient's Perspective--an 18-minute video for health care providers that offers a compassionate look at glaucoma from the patient's perspective.
